It
all began when...
...my
son, Ben, and I started playing in 2005 after a game on a commercial
field. We caught the bug instantly and went out and purchased a couple
of entry level markers for ourselves.
We
would go out every 3 weeks or so and do battle and sometimes invite
friends or family in the hope that they might catch on as well.
And
then...
...about
a year later one of the guys from our Church decided it was a good
thing and advertised new marker kits for a good price on the front wall
after the service. The response was impressive to say the least. I
believe he sold 12 kits in all.
We
would play in a patch of pine trees at the back of Lake Wiritoa (about
5 minutes from Wanganui)
Our
Priority.
We
all take the sport very seriously and have a strong emphasis on safety
adopting protocols strictly adhered to by professionally managed
Paintball Field Operators which is paramount to ensuring it remains a
safe and fun activity.
2009...
How things change. Many of us here have hung up or sold our gear for various reasons. It became too difficult to host events without a designated venue. Setting up and breaking down the field every month became a chore as there were very few who were willing to help. I also found it was becoming very expensive to maintain a reasonable level of competitiveness.
This website will remain up until I change the domain name to something more relevant to my current interests of Smallbore Target Shooting.
